Having performed for a multitude of corporate events over the past decade, we have come to know most established Sydney venues very well. From the large event venues such as ICC Sydney and Doltone House, to the smaller function spaces such as Palmer & Co. and Botanic Gardens Restaurant, we have performed at most establishments around Sydney. We have compiled a list below, in no particular order, of some of our favourite intimate venues for smaller corporate events that may not always be the obvious choice.
Beta Bar & Gallery
With award-winning function spaces situated within a heritage building, Beta Bar & Gallery is a stylish and sophisticated venue in Castlereagh Street that caters to small and large events. The building has three main function spaces, namely The Gallery, The Grand and The Atrium that are each suited to different capacities and requirements. We perform at Beta Bar & Gallery regularly and love the intimate and stylish feel of this venue. From providing background jazz as a Piano & Double Bass Duo in the Gallery for pre-dinner cocktails, to performing as the Full Vocal Quartet in The Grand for a larger business conference, we have come to love Beta Bar & Gallery as one of our favourite Sydney CBD venues.
The Calyx
Nestled in the heart of the Royal Botanic Gardens, The Calyx is a world-class horticultural space and something truly spectacular and out of the ordinary. This premium and versatile venue is suitable for a range of indoor and outdoor corporate events, and features amazing architectural structures, retractable walls and floor-to-ceiling greenery. The Graduates have performed at The Calyx on a number of occasions, and we have always been blown away by the breathtaking and award-winning design of the venue. There are several places for the band to setup, which allows for flexibility in your floorplan when planning your next event. This verdant oasis is sure to impress and “wow” your corporate clients for your next event!
Morso
This intimate harbourside venue is located on the historic Jones Bay Wharf and boasts views from Pyrmont all the way to Balmain and North Sydney. With both an outdoor lounge and indoor dining space, this cosy venue is perfect for those smaller functions, from product launches to end-of-year work Christmas parties, and is a wonderful space for featuring background jazz to create the perfect ambience. Clients should be aware however that the band usually sets up on the outdoor deck, so seated-dining events are best suited to the warmer months when the sliding doors remain open to allow the music from the band to reverberate around the venue.
Pier One Sydney Harbour
Nestled under the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Walsh Bay, Pier One boasts panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and is one of Sydney’s premier meeting and events venues. The venue features ten different function rooms which can cater anywhere from twelve to 1,500 guests. Therefore, clients have several options and can choose from our full range of packages including Duos, Trios and the Full Vocal Quartet for various event sizes. We have performed for both weddings and corporate events at this stunning venue which makes you feel like you are right in the middle of Sydney Harbour. No wonder this is the venue of choice for so many businesses and bridal couples!
Restaurant Hubert
Hubert is a fine French restaurant located in the heart of downtown Sydney which offers a wide range of private dining and events options. The most impressive space in the restaurant is the underground 1940’s theatre which has been restored to its former beauty and serves as a private dining room for up to 50 guests seated and 80 standing. Clients also have the option to book the whole restaurant, which features a stage in the main dining room with a grand piano to make The Graduates a highlight of your next event. We have performed at Hubert in the past and were blown away by the sheer size, beauty and charm of this historic and impressive venue. You truly have to visit Hubert to understand why our classic jazz band would be the perfect fit for this classic venue…and would be sure to blow your clients away!
