When it comes to selecting your dream wedding venue, one of the main decisions couples face is whether to go city or country escape. With the beautiful regions of NSW on Sydney’s doorstep, there are hundreds of venues to choose from. Ranging from beautiful wineries in the Southern Highlands, to countryside retreats in the picturesque Blue Mountains, to panoramic beachside destinations on the Central Coast, we have compiled a list of some of our favourite regional NSW venues we have performed at that each have their own distinct appeal.
The Stables At Bendooley Estate, Berrima NSW
The Stables is the ultimate setting for a country-style celebration. Set across the paddocks from the main buildings, with its own entrance and scenic setting, The Stables have been custom-built for those seeking distinctive rural glamour. One end of this vast barn is made of glass and looks out onto rolling hills. Inside, a huge iron fireplace sits below modern rustic chandeliers that hang from the exposed beams of the cathedral ceilings. Bridal couples have access to their own cocktail bar and sumptuous bridal parlour. Ceremonies can be celebrated in an idyllic setting on a nearby hillside, or for couples preferring a church wedding, there are two charming stone churches in Berrima nearby. Equipped with air-conditioning for summer weddings and a huge iron fireplace for winter celebrations, The Stables is the perfect year-round Southern Highlands venue, which we have performed at on many occasions.
Jaspers Berry, Berry NSW
Whether your taste is for classical elegance or Rock & Roll decadence, Jaspers Berry makes a spectacular setting for any wedding. Jaspers Berry operates all year-round, with different themes and packages available depending on the season. With onsite accommodation, Jaspers Berry is a fantastic destination for those looking to celebrate over a full weekend and stay overnight. Suited to more intimate celebrations, the venue boasts a range of features including a bridal salon, gentlemen’s club lounge, luscious gardens, designated ceremony and reception facilities and finally the luxurious ‘Guesthouse’ for bridal couples. We love performing at Jaspers Berry, especially in summer when we can setup outside on the giant chessboard which makes for a great photo!
Seclusions, Blue Mountains NSW
Nestled within the seven valleys on the fringe of the Blue Mountains, Seclusions is an award-winning wedding venue boasting picturesque countryside views coupled with a superior hosted experience. With unique historical charm and modern touches, the venue offers bridal couples an exclusive 20-acre private property with all the facilities onsite to create their dream wedding. In addition to the wedding venue, Seclusions also has onsite boutique spa cabins, each of which provides little luxuries within a private setting, as well as a communal tennis court and seasonal pool. Guests should note however that weddings and cabin stays are booked exclusively and do not coincide with each other. Seclusions is a proud family-run business that is ideal for couples looking for an intimate countryside location with stunning and panoramic views of the Blue Mountains. We love performing at this beautiful retreat and feel right in the heart of nature every time we visit.
Peterson House, Hunter Valley NSW
With a brand new, architecturally designed Chapel ideal for wedding ceremonies, Peterson House is fast becoming one of the top wedding destinations in the Hunter Valley. Along with the Chapel, Peterson House also has a vineyard marquee and a beautiful sandstone house which are both great options for wedding receptions. The Chapel boasts beautifully handcrafted timber trusses, sandstone blocks, high ceilings and gorgeous hand-crafted metal work including a stunning chandelier and has individual seating for over 220 guests. Within the beautiful sandstone walls of Peterson House is ‘Restaurant Cuvee’, which has spectacular views overlooking the stunning vineyards and is suitable for up to 140 guests. We have performed both here and in the permanent Vineyard Marquee, which comes equipped with fairy lights and chandeliers and is suitable for larger weddings of up to 250 guests. Although we have only performed here a few times, Peterson House has quickly become one of our favourite wedding destinations in the Hunter Valley winery region.
Pullman Magenta Shores Resort, Central Coast NSW
Nestled between the pristine waters of the Pacific Ocean and Tuggerah Lake, this luxuriously designed 5-star resort is just a 90-minute drive from Sydney. The resort is set amongst landscaped grounds and a short stroll from resort facilities including a Day Spa, 18-hole golf course and fully self-contained bedroom villas. For couples looking for a beachside wedding venue with modern resort-style facilities, Pullman Magenta Shores Resort offers the ultimate in comfort. While most popular for corporate events, more and more bridal couples are choosing to celebrate their weddings here. We love performing here when we have the chance, especially in the warmer months of the year when beachside weddings are better suited.
These are just some of the many regional wedding venues we have performed at over the years. Each venue has different perks and bridal couples should be conscious of choosing a wedding venue that is best suited to the time of year, whether their wedding is in the colder winter months or warmer summer ones.
