We often get asked by clients where they can come and see us perform, as most of our gigs are for private weddings and corporate events. You can catch us every Wednesday evening and Sunday lunch at this brand new establishment, which is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the up-and-coming restaurants in Sydney. We launched our residency here in November 2021 and have been performing twice weekly throughout the summer months. Il Pontile has been featured in the press as one of the newest and best restaurants featuring live music. INCREDIBLE FOOD
Il Pontile is a contemporary Italian restaurant that draws inspiration from the sea and the seasons. Helmed by fourth-generation Italian restaurateur and chef Mario Percuoco, a Naples native, it is quickly gaining a reputation as one of Sydney’s upcoming best new establishments. “It’s always been my dream to assist in the opening of a restaurant on a wharf, it reminds me of where I grew up in Naples,” the chef explains. “This is the first waterside restaurant I have been a part of, the menu will reflect where I come from.” Prepare to be blown away by the restaurant’s signature dish, ‘Linguine al Cartoccio’, which features linguine baked in a parcel with fresh mixed seafood!
PICTURESQUE SURROUNDINGS
Il Pontile is the first restaurant located on Woolloomooloo’s famous Finger Wharf, which is a heritage-listed former wharf and passenger terminal and now marina, residential apartments, hotel and collection of restaurants. Whether seated indoors or outdoors, diners are treated to stunning views of Woolloomooloo Bay and its historic surrounds. If you really want to make an impression on your date or business client, you can catch a water taxi across the harbour and pull up right at the foot of the restaurant. On many nights, you can also catch Harbourside fireworks from the restaurant’s prime viewing location.
FANTASTIC DRINKS AND COFFEE
As well as incredible food, Il Pontile also boasts an extensive international wine list and cocktail menu to keep you quenched through your dining experience. Some of our favourite pre-dinner drinks are the ‘Sicilian Negroni’ and ‘Gennaro’s Sidecar’, named after the restaurant’s visionary owner. The restaurant is also home to a state-of-the-art coffee machine that was commissioned and custom-made in Italy. Try one for yourself and taste the difference!
